LEGO City Train Deluxe Set Right now

Our son (5yrs 4mos) is a Lego, vehicle, and train enthusiast. This was the only thing he asked for Christmas. He put everything together himself with VERY little direction from Dad (4 cars he did completely by himself just from the pictorials!). It is lightning FAST, STURDY, and SMOOTH - above and beyond our wildest expectations (other vehicles cranes, loaders, etc were rather delicate more for admiring and not necessarily for playing - but this is made for a 5 year old to PLAY). The remote controller can operate up to 3 trains with one control. Christmas is now 5 days past and my son has only left this train long enough to eat and sleep LITERALLY and that is so unlike him. He is having a blast, and as parents we are marveled at watching his excitement, accomplishment and desire to be creative. This train was WORTH EVERY PENNY - You will not be disappointed! Of all the gadgets, toys and things we have gotten, I've not ever left a review - this I just couldn't ignore - it really is that fantastic. This is a Large very impressive set. It is fun to assembly and is very realistic to the character considering it is a Lego. It teaches cognitive thinking skills as well as hand to eye coordination, reading, following instructions and concentration all while having fun! To "FIX" the standing issue, Just get an inexpensive doll stand and put the bottom of the stand UNDER the LEGO stand then brace the general at his waist with the top of the doll stand. Problem solved!

LEGO Creator Stegosaurus Buy Now

This Lego set is worth the money, considering you can build 3 dinosaur models from 1 kit! My 7-year old twins love it and it is a great family activity. The set comes with 3 instruction booklets where your children learn to follow the diagrams to build their dinosaurs. It challenges their mind while having fun. The process of constructing encourages thinking as they translate 2 dimensional pictures to 3 dimensional objects. With smaller pieces, the set also encourages manual dexterity. One disadvantage is the somewhat complex designs and the time it takes to finish one figure, which can frustrate a young child who will end up walking away from his/her project. Additionally, the instruction booklet could use better fidelity in showing the piece colors. For some colors, what is shown in the booklet does not quite match the color of the actual piece, which can lead to assembly mistakes. When this happens, you end up pulling a bunch of pieces apart and going back to the drawing board. The same observation holds for how the pieces are illustrated versus how the pieces actually look. Finally, it is very easy to lose parts as some of them are no bigger than 1cm. But, at the end of they day, when your kid decides to walk away from the project, you can always pick it up and finish it yourself! (Review is from my 8 year old son): I got Zesk 15 days ago. So far, he's been very durable and has been a cool toy to play with. The one thing about Zesk that is a little troublesome is that his head has very stiff movement. Also, I was shocked to find out that Zesk does not talk in human language and is in fact, a "creature." The same size as Lego's previous mini-tractor (#8281 from 2006, available for astronomical prices), this is one of Lego's low-cost Technic sets for 2009. The most ingenious aspect of the set is the way in which pieces model the actual curves and angles of a real tractor. The coloring is well-done too. The bucket is user-controlled from a knob in the rear that drives a worm gear. My only negative comment is that the forward wheels are a tad wobbly. Still, this has proven a robust and fun toy for my son.
