Very educational but has a bit of a learning curve to really enjoy. My son loves robotics and is very patient so after much work he really got into it. But I could see some kids losing interest. It helps if they are big Lego fans and love to build -- especially Bionicle or Technic-type legos as this toy builds similarly to these.
