Our daughter is only 16 months old but she's figured out how to put the peg into the wooden pieces, though she doesn't always pull it through--that alone keeps her entertained, though! We bought it specifically for her backpack that stays in the vehicles, and it's great for that--she can "drop" them over the side of her carseat and pull them back up, and she has fun doing all the noises for the animals.
