My 7 month old granddaughter is at the "throw it on the floor and watch Grandma pick it up" phase and this toy works great on her high chair tray while I fix her a meal. It lost suction quickly the first few times, but I learned to put some water on the tray before sticking it on and it stays for a long time. She has already figured out that it comes out of the base, but she is too busy spinning it to take it loose.
